Estimating ages and metallicities of M31 star clusters from LAMOST DR6

چکیده
Context. Determining the metallicities and ages of M31 clusters is fundamental to study formation evolution itself. The Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) has carried out a systematic spectroscopic campaign candidates in M31. Aims. We constructed catalogue 346 observed by LAMOST. By combining information LAMOST spectra multi-band photometry, we developed new algorithm estimate these clusters. Methods. distinguish young from old using random forest classifiers based on empirical training data set selected literature. Ages are derived spectral energy distribution (SED) fits their photometric measurements. Their estimated fitting principal components extracted with those metal-rich single stellar population (SSP) models. For clusters, built non-parameter models between and/or colours parameters SSP then measurements resultant Results. 53 293 our catalogue. Our good agreement about 30 catalogued 40 sources for first time.

Young Star Clusters : Metallicities , Ages , and Masses
Observations of Young Star Cluster (YSC) systems in interacting galaxies are reviewed with particular emphasis on their Luminosity Functions (LF) and colour distributions. A few spectroscopic abundance measurements are available. They will be compared to YSC abundance predictions from spiral galaxy models. Evolutionary synthesis models allow to derive ages for individual YSCs on the basis of th...
متن کاملAges and metallicities of star clusters: new calibrations and diagnostic diagrams from visible integrated spectra
We present homogeneous scales of ages and metallicities for star clusters from very young objects, through intermediate-age ones up to the oldest known clusters. All the selected clusters have integrated spectra in the visible range, as well as reliable determinations of their ages and metallicities. From these spectra equivalent widths (EWs) of K Ca II, G band (CH) and Mg I metallic, and Hδ, H...
متن کاملAges and Metallicities of Globular Clusters in NGC 4472
We have derived ages and metallicities from co-added spectra of 131 globular clusters associated with the giant elliptical galaxy NGC 4472. Based upon a calibration with Galactic globular clusters, we find that our sample of globular clusters in NGC 4472 span a metallicity range of approximately -1.6 ≤ [Fe/H] ≤ 0 dex. There is evidence of a radial metallicity gradient in the globular cluster sy...
متن کاملSuper star clusters as probes of massive star evolution and the IMF at extreme metallicities
Young super star clusters and young compact massive star forming regions can provide useful information on their burst properties (age, burst duration, SFR), the upper end of the IMF and yield new constraints on the evolution of massive stars. Through the study of their stellar populations we can in particular extend our knowledge on massive stars to extreme metallicities unavailable for such s...
متن کاملStar Clusters in M31: I. a Catalog and a Study of the Young Clusters
We present an updated catalog of 1300 objects in the field of M31, including 670 likely star clusters of various types, the rest being stars or background galaxies once thought to be clusters. The coordinates in the catalog are accurate to 0.2 ̋, and are based on images from the Local Group Survey (LGS, Massey et al. 2006) or from the DSS. Archival HST images and the LGS were inspected to confir...
